Throughout the years, reggae has been Zella Dino’s true refuge. His greatest influences have been reggae icons Dennis Brown, Jimmy Cliff, Capleton (the fire man), Nikodemus, and 80’s dancehall sensation Super Cat.

Zella Dino, born Dennis Sharpe in Kingston, Jamaica, was raised in the vibrant heartbeat of reggae culture. At just five years old, his family moved to the St. Catherine community of Waterford, Portmore. Later, they relocated to Manchester, where he attended Ferguson All Age School in French Park before continuing his education at Decarteret College in Mandeville. These years shaped not only his education but also his outlook on life — lessons that remain with him today.
Zella Dino’s breakout single, “Wake Up Call,” quickly captured the attention of reggae DJs and fans worldwide and remains a favorite on playlists across the globe. His latest single, “Squeaky Cleeny,” has become his signature track. With its upbeat rhythm and infectious hook, it doubles as an ode to fashion and style — reflecting his own love for sharp dressing and self-expression.

Zella Dino sets the tone for summer
Recording artiste Zella Dino has released an energetic track to set the tone for the summer season, titled Di Party Loud. “Tha song is about me having the time of my life at a jumping party, full of vibes, and being surrounded by beautiful women, while I’m ‘squeaky clean’ and the selector is playing my songs and they are getting ‘forwards’ and money pull-ups.
It’s just about me and the team out braffing and the girls are all over me,” he told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash adding that the song is based on a real scenario.
Zella Dino Set to Release New Song, "Skip Dem Out"
Recording artiste Zella Dino is gearing up for a brand new release, aptly titled “Skip Dem Out.” Produced by Cut Above Music, the track will officially be released on October 28, 2023 and is featured on the Blessings Riddim.
“The song is based on a period in my life when I had some so-called friends who were jealous and so I had to leave their company, leaving the fake friends behind,” the artiste explained.
